SEVEN TRUMPETS
04:19
|
|||
written by Patrick Best
(based on Revelation 8-11)
(prologue)
seven trumpets sound one at a time
cue events for the end of mankind
seen in the vision of Revelation
Apocalyptic chaos, devastation
hail and fire mixed with blood
falling to the ground
burning mountain comes forth and "plunge"
into the sea abound
great star blazing like a torch
falls from the sky, poisoning the scorched
darkness comes over the sun
moon and stars black as one
seven trumpets
sounding off one by one
seven trumpets
proclaiming return of the Son
7
opens a bottomless pit of torment
scorpion-tailed warhorse locusts ferment
200 million riders sound
horses dispersing plagues from their mouths
with seven comes the final “woe”
loud voices proclaim His name
lightning and peals of thunder
sound praise for the wrath that came
seven trumpets
sounding off one by one
seven trumpets
proclaiming return of the Son
7
do you carry the seal
upon your forehead?
for the Rapture is coming
"take heed" - it is said
seven trumpets
sounding off one by one
seven trumpets
proclaiming return of the Son
7 - 7 - 7
trumpets
trumpets
trumpets

THE SACRIFICE
05:39
|
|||
written by Patrick Best
(based on the Passion according to the four Gospels)
standing trial the arrest was made
before the Sanhedrin
condemned to death the passion stayed
no defense was given
over envy the priests enslaved
and stirred up the crowd
one man freed, the other bound
“crucify,” the mob shouted loud
He was
beaten - mocked - flogged in disdain
crowned - with thorns - spat on in vain
for the sacrifice
the sacrifice
to the hill known as Calvary
the place of the skull
refused the wine that was mixed with gall
facing suffering in full
between two thieves a king did reign
clearly knowing His fate
“forgive them for they do not know”
“know what they do”
He was
beaten - mocked - flogged in disdain
crowned - with thorns - spat on in vain
for the sacrifice
the sacrifice
two thieves on His sides from the left and the right
one whom found belief and the other in despite
“can’t you see this man’s done nothing, oh please remember me”
“to you I say in this time of vice, you will be with Me in Paradise”
wounded hands by the nail
driven through His feet
on that cursed tree
death He did defeat
wounded hands by the nail
driven through His feet
on that cursed tree
death He did defeat
His sacrifice
His sacrifice
finis

THE JUST
05:11
|
|||
written by Patrick Best
(based on 1st Samuel 17)
for forty days
challenge is made
Israel's lines
bring nothing but fear
Phillistine warrior
hailing from Gath
fitted chain-mail
iron-spearhead wrath
slaves to the death - a battle for the right
slaves to the death - declaration of might
every knee shall bow
every tongue confess
and the just shall live
in holy righteousness
now the just shall live
live by faith
i will fight
the future king
of Israel
with meager means
born purpose and staff
shepherd armed with 5
stones and a sling
from lion and bear
to Goliath's swing
slaves to the death - a battle for the right
slaves to the death - declaration of might
every knee shall bow
every tongue confess
and the just shall live
in holy righteousness
now the just shall live
live by faith
every knee shall bow
every tongue confess
and the just shall live
in holy righteousness
every knee shall bow
every tongue confess
and the just shall live
in holy righteousness
pride goeth before - before - before the fall
pride goeth before - before - before the fall
for on this day I will strike you down;
that all the earth may know there’s a God in Israel
